The windchill is -3° F. Both Mazdas started fine but they were in the garage all night. The garage isn’t heated but is attached to the house so it stays 10-15 degrees warmer than outside.

The Sunbird is in a non-heated detached garage/shop  at my friend’s house so I can guarantee its already weak battery has now died.

I left the kitchen faucet dripping just in case.

I have a coworker in Minneapolis that told us it’s -17° F there and his house is creaking and popping. He got to work from home today, thankfully.

How’s everyone else doing in this year’s arctic blast?

Just landed in Minneapolis a few hours ago. Can confirm it’s stoopid cold there. Not much warmer where I’m headed either.

Btw that’s -17 without the windchill. The “real feel” temp was is -33.

Had a friend that lives down here pick me up, and  I’m reeeeeally hoping that my car starts when I get back home. But I’m not putting much faith in that as it’s been sitting outside since Friday, and he battery has been kinda weak already.

I’m sorry, what? I can't hear you over the regional smug over our 40 degree weather despite being on the same latitude as Michigan.

It is about -2F here. On the way home from work the air from the heater was approximately 33-40 F using the hand-o-meter. And the theromstat kept going to max then normal then back up. Coolant and oil levels seemed fine. Also, my power steering was only working intermittently. My car does not like the cold.

I’m just west of Chicago and it was -22 without windchill this morning. My mom’s Accord has remote start, and it took about 4 cycles for the thing to actual ly turn over... when it finally did... boy did that sound awful.

I was outside working for several hours yesterday. No problem. Don’t know why everyone complains about the cold. Just layer up and treat it like any other day. It was only like 6 here in Lousiville. Eh, I’ve been camping in colder temps.
